Introducing Indoor Marathon (Jogging, Running) Courses where you can run rain or shine.

Introducing indoor marathon (jogging, running) courses where you can run rain or shine. Great news for runners near Magok!!!

Today, I’d like to introduce a great indoor course in Magok where you can run even when it rains. I previously posted similar content on a Tistory blog I managed, feel free to refer to it if needed. -> Reference

The course I’d like to introduce is the underground passage connecting Magok Station and Magoknaru Station. First, let’s look at the overall course on Naver Map! The length marked by Naver Distance Measurement is approximately the course itself.

Magok Station and Magoknaru Station have been completely connected underground with the opening of OneGrove. However, it’s not a narrow space like a typical subway connecting passage, but is connected with quite a huge size! It’s also connected under the park, so in the park section, it blocks the rain but the space is completely open to the ground! This makes it a great area with relatively fresh, outdoor-like air while keeping you dry.

I walk here often, and today, since it was raining, I thought, ‘Can I run here?’ and tried it—it’s totally sufficient ;-) Today, I started from Magoknaru (the upper part on the map) and ran to Magok Station, which is almost exactly 1km.

Let’s quickly look at the photos.

This is the starting point! The place where the photo was taken is underground, but it’s completely open to the ground, and the outer part is covered, so it’s fine to just circle around this area. Although it doesn’t continue underground all the way, it connects through Magok Park to the Han River, which is nice. Today, let’s head towards Magok Station.

This photo was taken at the start to check the distance.

The way might be a bit confusing, but follow the direction towards OneGrove or Le West.

There are even stairs to keep you entertained while running ;-)

As you can see from the photo, there is plenty of space.

This looks like roughly the midpoint.

In many places, it’s connected to the ground, and the ventilated space is very large, so the air is quite fresh!

Yes! Now, OneGrove! We’ve almost arrived at Magok Station.

Arrived at Magok Station!

It’s almost exactly 1km when you get to Exit 7 of Magok Station.

It’s a one-way course that will be almost exactly 1km if you do one lap in the circular plaza at the starting point and then continue. It may not be better than the outdoors, but I highly recommend it for those who absolutely cannot skip a run even in the rain or snow!!!

There are also many shops, including Trader Joe’s, at OneGrove, so a delicious meal after running seems possible.

Have a nice day~
