Electric Bike Handle Cover Review - An Essential Item for Fall and Winter Delivery: Honest Review

An honest review of the electric bike handle cover after direct use in 4-5°C weather. Sharing detailed information about its cold protection effectiveness, pros, and cons during delivery rides, featuring a cost-effective AliExpress product.

Changes in Season Felt on an Autumn Hike

Hello. I went hiking after a long time, and the day was filled with vibrant colors, almost like autumn saying, “I’m here!” ;-)

Although the scenery is beautiful, a chilly wind is arriving along with the fallen leaves.

Electric Bike Delivery, A Battle Against the Cold

I’ve been working hard doing deliveries with my electric bike, so I purchased a handle muff? glove? cover? to block the chilly wind.

Before, I used to wear thick gloves for delivery, but they made using my phone difficult. So, I decided it would be better to install a handle cover and wear thin gloves instead, and I put one on.

45°C (3941°F), Real-World Usage Review

It’s not below freezing yet, so a true performance test hasn’t been conducted, but in chilly weather around 4 to 5°C, I can ride without gloves and my hands don’t get cold at all, so I’m using it conveniently.

Since I value cost-effectiveness highly, I bought it from AliExpress again ;-)

As I’m writing this after using it myself, you can trust this review ;-)

When I purchased it, it cost about 2 USD.

Detailed Product Review

Overall Quality and Material

First, here is the overall appearance. The material and finish are excellent for the price. The outer material is called PU, and it resisted light rain well, but it seems likely that water could seep through the seams if it rained heavily.

Inner Lining Texture

The lining is described as “thickened plush” and is made of artificial faux fur. The texture is very soft.

Installation Method and Mounted View

Close-up of the installation

Installation is simple: insert the handle through the corresponding hole and the brake lever through its hole, then tie the straps to secure it. Installation complete!

A Minor Drawback

The drawback is that the handle and brake holes are a certain size, and since there is no way to tie them off or fully seal them, a slight breeze can pass through when riding fast.

However, since the openings are not facing forward, they do not pose a problem for blocking the wind and retaining heat.

Final Assessment and Recommendation

Considering the price, I recommend it ;-)

I hope this helps your purchasing decision and wish you safe riding.

Pros

  • Excellent warmth, usable without gloves at 4-5°C (39-41°F)
  • Great value at 2 USD
  • Simple installation
  • Soft inner lining texture
  • Resistant to light rain

Cons

  • Potential water infiltration through seams in heavy rain
  • Slight air entry through the openings during fast riding
